Thank you for visiting A Love Letter from God! I hope you’ll find this a place where God speaks to you! If you’ve not been here before, you may be wondering what in the world is this Love Letters thing? (That’s okay. This is definitely the place to be when you’re questioning!!)
Have you ever struggled with prayer? I know I have.
I was taught prayers that were rhyming. I was taught to pray in a monotonous rhythm that a congregation can say together. As I write, I’m imagining the Our Father—a prayer taught to us by Jesus. For years I never focused on the words or true meaning of the Our Father – Jesus was teaching us how to pray. This was the same for all prayers: I would recite words without focusing on the true meaning of the prayer and completely miss the lesson from God!
You’re in the right place if you’ve ever thought or felt the following:
- There must be a way to pray that moves beyond the simple words of prayer.
- I need more than “Thee” and “Thou” in my prayer time.
- Something in me is craving a deeper connection to God.
- How do I reconcile the new age universe & source energy with God the Father, Son & Holy Spirit?
- How do I move from living in anxiety in daily life to a firm unshakeable faith every day?
- If I start praying every day, do I have to become a different person? Will I lose my fun?
- Sometimes I feel really close to God and then it slips away.

I’m familiar with that place; I was there until I was introduced to a method of prayer called the Miracle Hour by Linda Schubert. I was initially a little intimidated (read: put off) by this Catholic publication but it soon came to be the vehicle to connection with God. If you’re not Catholic don’t dismiss this method of prayer as being just for Catholics!
As I started I couldn’t complete the hour in its entirety. Instead, I would do individual sections of the Miracle Hour until I found that I was living in deep, soul filling connection with God. Eventually, I started completing the Miracle Hour consistently and my connection to God spilled over throughout my day. Interactions with other people became a connection to God.
There is a special time in this prayer where you are “still before the Lord and wait patiently for him” (Psalm 37:7). I started to write down the words I was hearing from God. I learned to hear His voice and to test it to make sure it was God/Papa/Jesus/Holy Spirit talking. I learned to hear and feel the most loving presence that is with me beyond just this miracle hour I spend with God.
This is what His words looked like for me:
I love you, dear one. You continue to move step by step toward Me. You are My apostle of peace. Devote your time to prayer. Prayer is simple. Not easy but simple. Direct your thoughts to Me. So much higher are My thoughts than your thoughts. When you turn your thoughts to Me you are elevated to Me. When you focus on Me, I can take your perception and make it My own. I can give you the words to speak and can direct your thoughts. No, My dear one, not everyone can hear My voice. I am always here. Do not doubt—you have bound the spirit of doubt and replaced it with Me. Do not unbind doubt. You have asked for the gift of My voice. It comes with tasks to be done in My name. Listen for My voice. Test it to be sure it is from Me.
I’m at a place now where my miracle hour spills over into and throughout my whole day. I can’t imagine not knowing the loving kindness of God’s word throughout the day
Here’s what I’ve learned: God wants to talk to all of us! Let me say this again—God wants to talk to all of us! He wants every single person to experience His complete, fulfilling, deep love. He wants us to see Him in every single person we meet. Your Papa loves you so very much! He loves you when you are praising Him and when you are running away from Him. And guess what!? It’s the same Love in either case! When you read these messages you will that see YOU are His dear one. You are the most important. And these messages are His love letters to you! Enjoy!!
In an effort keep the focus on the real reason for this website (our loving God), I’ve wanted to avoid giving lots of info about me. I realize, though, you miss some of the pieces when I try to stay completely anonymous!
So here goes: I’m Meg. I’m one of those eternal optimists. I’m the one who always wants to find the bright shiny sided, silver lining in every situation. I love my rose colored glasses. (That being said, I’ve had more than my share of life experiences that pushed those lovely glasses right off my nose. I’ve worked hard to wear those rose-colored glasses.) I’m a life coach, wife and mom, dog and cat owner, social media junkie on a spiritual journey. Just after my love of God is my love for my husband and family. I enjoy being creative which means my basement is full of half-completed projects that range from sweater sleeves to splashes of color on a canvas. My amazing husband has tried his fair share of truly awful food trials…er….creations.
I’m also a recovering perfectionist. And for the record, it’s hard to be an optimist and a perfectionist. One of them had to go! I have to work, every single day, to overcome the “not good enough” voice that wants to speak. I choose joy! I choose optimism! I choose to focus on what God says.
I’m also a prayer gal–I suspect you know this by now :-). There is huge power in people standing together in prayer. If there is something I can pray for you, please head over to the Prayer Requests page. I read and pray over ALL of them! In fact, it is a humble honor and privilege you give me when you let me pray for you, your life and your requests.
